National Institutional Accreditation

Institutional accreditation normally applies to an entire institution. In higher education it means that the institution is meeting its mission and is therefore entitled to federal funds for students wishing to attend it.

Non-Credit Course

A course or activity having no credit applicable toward a degree, diploma, certificate, or other formal award.

Non-Matriculated Student

A student that is enrolled on a semester-by-semester or course-by-course basis and has not been accepted as a regular student pursuing a degree. Non-matriculated students are also known as “continuing education” or “non-degree” students.
