Licensure Requirements

Licensure Requirements

Dietitians and nutritionists in New York must be certified by a national certifying organization, requiring graduation from an accredited bachelor’s or master’s program that includes supervised work experience. In New York State, it is also possible to be certified as a dietitian and nutritionist with an associate degree from an accredited educational program and with a combination of 10 full time equivalent years of education and supervised experience within the 15 years preceding your application for certification. Recertification every 5 years requires completing continuing education credits.
