Major

A subject-matter area in which a student may specialize by taking a specified number of courses as a part of the requirements for completion of program of study.

Master’s Degree

An academic degree that requires the successful completion of a program of study of at least the full-time equivalent of 1 to 3 academic years of work beyond the bachelor’s degree.

Matriculated Student

A student that has applied and been officially accepted into the college/university/institution through an admission process and is pursuing a degree.

Mentoring

A one-to-one relationship between a more knowledgeable person and a less knowledgeable person (a protégé) to pass on knowledge, experience and judgment, or to provide guidance and friendship.
